The IBPS conducts a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) to select clerks for various banks. The selection process involves two phases:

Here’s a breakdown of the syllabus for each phase of the IBPS Clerk exam:

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

  • Numerical Ability: This section assesses your ability to handle mathematical problems related to number systems, algebra, geometry, arithmetic, mensuration, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability: This section evaluates your logical and analytical thinking skills through puzzles, arrangements, syllogisms, and other reasoning problems.

Phase II: Main Examination

  • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude: This combined section tests your logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and basic computer knowledge.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: This section evaluates your ability to solve mathematical problems similar to the Preliminary exam, but at a slightly higher difficulty level.

Key Differences from IBPS PO/MT Syllabus

  • The IBPS Clerk exam doesn’t have a separate interview stage.
  • The IBPS Clerk exam doesn’t cover Data Analysis & Interpretation, which is present in the IBPS PO/MT Mains exam.
